Kim K’s Favourite Designer Donates Bags Worth Bragging About!

He’s been described as a powerful emerging force in today’s creative world, a provocateur who’s redefined the concept of couture in the 21st century. Yet, as creative director at Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia is more modest about himself, declaring, “It’s just that I like what I do that enhances my creativity and ideas.“ Indeed, his creative talents benefited Designers against AIDS in 2016 when Demna created a unique edition backpack for the Eastpak Artist Studio series.

Even if you’re still not familiar with the name, you will be familiar with his designs – think of Kim Kardashian, who stole the show at the Met Ball in 2021, covered head to toe (and face) in Balenciaga. Demna is used to creating show-stopping looks, so why not get your hands on a limited edition bag you can surely brag about?!

Description

These limited edition bags (only one of each bag was ever made, which makes it super limited!) were kindly donated by Vetements (which Demna co-founded with his brother Guram Gvasalia, who’s the current creative director of the brand) and Eastpak.

The two prototype bags come with a dustbag with VETEMENTS and Eastpak tags: one regular size, one XXL. This unique bag is perfect for collectors and even museums, with all proceeds going to Designers against AIDS.

This sale is for the regular size bag; check the other listing if you’re interested in the larger bag. The first two name tags are on the bag; the other two tags are on the dustbag. Dimensions: 35 cm high (60 cm including the loop/handle) and 30 cm wide.

Background about Demna Gvasalia

In October 2015, Francois-Henri Pinault appointed Demna to take the helm at Balenciaga, a masterful stroke that sent the label’s business figures sky-high within two years. Demna continues to live up to his reputation as a modern-day enfant terrible of luxury, reinterpreting both the house archives and M. Balenciaga’s originals to disrupt the classics and create his newfound aesthetic. Alongside his creative directorship at Balenciaga, Gvasalia is also the co-founder and, until recently, continued as the brands head designer, which makes this limited edition bag even more desirable as part of fashion history!
